Women who eat flaxseeds may see a rise in their levels of Endostatin in their breasts. Endostatin is a protein produced by your body to help starve tumors of their blood supply. Women consuming muffins with flaxseeds on average witness their tumor cell proliferation decrease, cancer cell death rates increase and their c-erB2 scores decrease.

C-erB2 is a marker of cancer aggressiveness; The higher your score the higher potential for breast cancer to metastasize and spread throughout the body.

PROSTATE
Higher levels of lignans tend to be found in the prostate fluids of populations of men with relatively low rates of prostate cancer.

Lignans have also been shown to slow the growth of prostate cancer cells in petri dishes. Researchers decided to put lignans to the test by asking men with prostate cancer scheduled for prostate removal surgery the following month to consume 3 tablespoons of flaxseed‘s per day.
.
After surgery their tumors were examined.  within just a few weeks of flaxseed consumption, the flax consumption appeared to have lowered their cancer cell proliferation rates while at the same time increasing their cancer cell clearance.

Even better, flaxseeds may also be able to prevent prostate cancer from advancing to that stage in the first place. This may be because flaxseeds block 5 alpha reductase, the enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. If 5 alpha reductase is too high, this causes more testosterone to be converted to DHT which stimulates prostate hypertrophy. this will be evidenced by difficulty in urinating, PSA that’s >4.0, changes in sex drive and morning erections.

89 pregnant subjects, 26 subjects consumed 7 dates only and 32 subjects ate 7 date fruits followed by drinking water and control group was not given any date fruits nor drinking water.

They consumed the date fruits during the first and third stages of labor. There were positive significant impacts on Appearance, Pulse, Grimace, Activity, and Respiration (APGAR) score among the infants whos mothers consumed date fruits in the first stage and third stage of labor.

 The date fruit consumers were less likely to have meconium liquor staining (fetal stress), fetal heart rate variability, and caput succedaneum (when the fetus’s head is deformed due to the pressure of the scalp against the dilating cervix during delivery – can cause infant jaundice) and had better APGAR scores at 5 min.

Date fruit eaters also had a reduced need for the medication oxytocin, commonly given to induce labor (Ahmed, 2018).

The ingestion of date fruit significantly reduced the amount of bleeding compared to oxytocin in the first hour following placental delivery, due to the presence of compounds in date fruit that mimicked the action of oxytocin (Khadem, 2011).

    • The emergence of colorectal cancer can be broken up into three stages. The first sign might be what are called aberrant crypt foci, or abnormal clusters of cells along the lining of the colon. Next, polyps that grow from the inner surface. The final stage is thought to occur when a benign polyp transforms into a cancerous one. The cancer can then eat through the wall of the colon and spread throughout the body. To what degree can curcumin block each stage of colorectal cancer?

studying smokers, who tend to have a lot of aberrant crypt foci, investigators found that curcumin consumption could reduce the number of those cancer associated structures in their rectums up to nearly 40%, from 18 down to 11, within just 30 days.

If we were talking about some kind of chemotherapy drug that only helped 1 in 3 people you’d have to weigh that against all the serious side effects. But when it’s just some plant extract shown to be remarkably safe, even if it just helped 1 in 100, it would be worth considering.
