  • In 2013 the World Journal of Gastroenterology discovered that H. Pylori was more frequent in men and post menopausal women, than in pre-menopausal women. 🥕 In 84 patients who were discovered to have H. Pylori, the infection was eradicated. 32 of the 88 patients had a complete resolution of their iron anemia in six months and no iron deficiency relapse was observed at 21 months. 🍇 they found that this infection is a frequent cause of iron anemia. 🍓 As a person ages their stomach acid starts to decline, this is called hypochlorhydria. This is what H. Pylori likes, no acid and when it Infects somebody it likes to turn down the acid even more to make itself more comfortable. This impairs a person ability to digest foods and absorb B vitamins. 🍉 This bacteria can be passed through saliva and feces.   • How awesome is this? 🥳 In the first retrospective cohort study of the functional medicine (FM) model, Cleveland Clinic researchers found that FM was associated with improvements in health-related quality of life. The functional medicine model of health care focuses on the dynamic processes that result in chronic disease. It relies on the analysis of function at the organ system, organ, tissue, cellular and subcellular levels, and is referred to as a systems-biology-based model that addresses the underlying cause of disease using personalized therapeutic interventions to support the achievement of optimal wellness. 😀 What I really think is going to happen, is eventually all outpatient medicine will be functional.   • Low magnesium levels have been shown to decrease pancreatic exocrine function. This means that your pancreas is not able to put out an optimal amount of digestive enzymes to break down your food. 💩 Bloating, gas, reflux, belching, constipation?   • 👉🏼The Brain In Your Gut: the gut’s brain, known as the enteric nervous system, is located in the sheaths of tissue lining the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon.👈🏼 💩🧠 Serotonin is physiologically required for maintenance of normal colonic motility. Motility cannot be controlled when there is an absence of mucosal serotonin reuptake transporter. (SERT).   • Can you believe this was from a heavy purse? I mostly have ditched purses because it places the weight on one shoulder. I use small cross body bags, back packs or clutches. 🎀 The myofascial irritation is extreme here. This will often cause the body to compensate in other ways and you may feel pain on the opposite side of the body. 🎀 Stare at yourself in the mirror with your shirt off, notice if one of your shoulders is higher than the other.
