The New Year is a time of rebirth and celebration…also reflection of what your life has been like for this past year and things you hope to accomplish going forward. With 2018 fast approaching, I wanted to give you some tools that can help you shed the subconscious beliefs or emotional traumas that you have had a hard time releasing. This could be the plot twist you’ve been waiting for !
Vasana Daha Tantra is an exercise in which you write down everything that is bothering you, your fears, your worries, the things that keep you up at night and you burn this paper. This gets stubborn memories and impressions out of the subconscious mind, and allows us to “take the lesson from the experience.”
Sivaya Subramuniyaswami explains, “If you have something on your mind that was not settled before sleep, between you and another person, then it goes into the subconscious mind as a ‘vasana.’ Or, a thought form that contains the emotions you went through when the happening happened. To get rid of that emotion out of the memory, write it down on a piece of paper, crumple up that paper and burn it up in a garbage can because that is something you do not want to carry around with you.”
Many people carry a lot of vasanas and the older they get, the heavier they get; mentally and emotionally heavy. They can lighten up the past by taking the emotion out of the experience and then they are left with only the memory. Then we are left with the lesson out of the experience, so we can help others not to go through the same experiences. It is a wonderful circle. This is called the Vasana Daha Tantra.
This exercise helps remove the emotion out of the memory pattern, which is locked in the subconscious mind and influences everything that you do through the day and it even influences your dreams at night (anyone sleep talking?).
Nikola Tesla said “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” Everything is made up of energy and is vibrating at a certain frequency. If you have an experience and there’s an emotion attached to it, it’s vibrating in your subconscious mind. You cannot do anything about the experience that has happened because it is already done. But you can remove the emotion that is attached to the experience.
How to do the exercise:
Take a piece of paper. As you begin to write, the experience moves from your subconscious mind to your conscious mind because you’re reliving it.
- The emotion comes out of the experience, flows through your hands and into the piece of paper.
- Now you crumble the paper and throw it in something so that you can burn it.
- Fire transforms the emotion into heat, flame & ash.
This may sound kind of far fetched to some. But here is an example:
Have you ever had a child/your child make you a card? It’s full of crayon scribbles and sloppy handwriting. Nobody would buy it.
Would you throw it out? No, of course not.
Why? Because it’s so full of love. The child has taken a piece of paper and put all their love and emotion into the card for you.
You can move emotion into different forms of matter. If you find yourself with unresolved emotional experiences sitting inside you, consuming a lot of energy you need to do this exercise.
It depends of the severity of the situation that was experienced. You may have to do it 3-4x.
Keep on doing the self growth, it never stops. Don’t bury your head in the sand to it when a wound comes up, you can transcend it and experience a freedom and a happiness you didn’t know was possible.
Another exercise that I find to be helpful in creating my reality:
Kylego Exercise by Kyle Cease
In the morning, I wake up and I look at my self in the mirror. I tell myself how this day has gone and what happened in this day as if it has already happened. I tell myself how happy & excited I felt today, how much money I have made, how many patients consults have gone amazing & how much energy I felt all day long.
What this does is it essentially stores this in your brain as fact! Your brain doesn’t know the difference and your mind will start to come up with ways to make this day the best day ever. You will embody the feeling that you want.
Kyle Cease is a comedian turned motivational speaker and he is quite incredible in my opinion. Here is the video for you to watch if you’re interested in hearing more about the Kylego Exercise:
